Mushroom and Capsicum Thin Crust Pizza


Learn how to make pizza base , how to make pizza sauce and top it with juicy mushrooms and Capsicum.
Mushroom and Capsicum Pizza
Serves- 2 personal pizzas
Prep time- 1 and 1/2 hours
Cooking time- 15 mins

Ingredients for pizza base
Maida flour / All purpose flour- 1 cup
Active dry yeast- 1 and 1/4 tsp
Warm water- 1/2 cup
Sugar- 1 tsp
Salt- 1/2 tsp
Olive oil- 1 tbsp
Homemade Pizza

Method
In a bowl dissolve sugar in warm water, sprinkler yeast on top and gently mix, cover with lid and set aside for 10 mins until yeast mixture becomes frothy.
In a large bowl combine maida flour, salt, olive oil and yeast mixture, knead for 15 mins until dough becomes soft and smooth.( If dough is sticky sprinkle few tbsp flour, knead and adjust). Set aside dough covered with damp cloth for 45 mins. After 45 mins when dough doubled in size, punch dough until air escapes and knead again for 10 mins. Again set aside for 20 mins covered with damp cloth. Once again when dough has doubled in size its ready for making pizzas.

Ingredients for topping
Sliced mushroom- 1 cup( 100 gms)
Sliced Capsicum ( Green Bell Pepper )- 1 no
Dried oregano- 1 tsp
Garlic powder- 1 tsp
Grated Mozzarella cheese / Pizza cheese- 2 cups
Olive oil- 2 tbsp

How to assemble pizza and bake
Pre- heat oven at 200° C. 
Divide dough into two equal parts, roll out each dough into 1/4 " thick round. Placed rolled dough on baking sheet and wait for 5 to 7 mins until it slightly rises. Spread 1/2 cup pizza sauce on the top of rolled dough, arrange 1/2 of mushrooms and 1/2 of sliced capsicum on top, sprinkle 1/2 tsp oregano and 1/2 tsp garlic powder on top. Finally sprinkle 1 cup mozzarella cheese generously on top of pizza and drizzle 1 tbsp olive oil on top of cheese.
Place the prepared pizza in the center rack of the oven and bake at 200°C for 15 mins or until pizza base is slightly browned and cheese melted on top. Serve hot.

Tips and Tricks for perfect pizza
Do not top pizza with too much of sauce, too much of sauce makes pizza soggy.
Do not over crowd pizza with lots of toppings, again too much of topping does not give enough space to cook pizza properly, which again leads to soggy pizza.
Two to three toppings and 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup of pizza sauce is good enough for an perfect pizza.

Indian Style Pizza / Desi Pizza / Chatpata Pizza recipe


Learn how to make easy Indian style pizza with ready made pizza base.
Indian Style Pizza Recipe
Serves: 2 personal pizza
Prep time: 10 mins
Cooking time: 8 to 10 mins

Ingredients
Ready-made Pizza base- 2 nos
Mint chutney- 1/2 cup( for mint chutney recipe click here)
Mushroom sliced- 50 gms( 1/2 cup)
Capsicum sliced- 1/2 no
Tomato sliced- 1 no
Dried oregano- 1 tsp
Garlic powder- 1 tsp
Grated Mozzarella cheese/ Pizza cheese- 1 and 1/2 cup
Butter- 2 tbsp
Olive oil- 2 tsp
Desi Pizza
Method
Pre heat oven at 200°C, spread both sides of pizza base with 1 tbsp butter and grill pizza base in oven for 2 mins. Allow to cool the grilled pizza base, once reached room temperature, spread 2 tbsp mint chutney on top of pizza base, arrange required mushrooms, capsicum slices and tomato slices on top of mint chutney. Sprinkle 1/2 tsp oregano and garlic powder on top of veggies and top it with 3/4 cup grated mozzarella cheese. Drizzle 1 tsp olive oil on top of cheese. Place the prepared pizza in the center rack of the oven and bake at 200°C for 6 to 8 mins or until pizza base is slightly browned and cheese melted on top. Serve hot.

Tomato sauce for Pasta/ Pizza


Learn how to make home made easy tomato sauce for Italian  pasta or for pizza.

Tomato sauce for pasta/ pizza
Ingredients
Tomatoes large- 6 nos
Tomato sauce/ ketchup- 1/4 cup
Onion medium minced- 2 nos
Garlic cloves- 4 nos
Dried Oregano- 2 tbsp
Sugar- 1 tbsp( +/-)
Salt to taste
Olive oil- 4 tbsp
Easy pizza/ pasta sauce
Method
Blanch tomatoes, allow to cool and remove its skin. In a blender or mixer, grind together blanched tomatoes, garlic cloves, oregano, tomato sauce, sugar and salt to smooth puree. In a large sauce pan heat olive oil on low flame, add minced onion and saute until onions are transparent. Add the pureed tomato mixture to the onions, check the seasoning and cook the tomato puree on low flame for 20 to 30 mins until thickens.

For italian red pasta
Serve prepared tomato sauce hot over pasta topped with parmesan cheese or cheddar cheese.

For italian pizza
Cool the tomato sauce, spread over pizza base top it with veggi, cheese and meat of your choice.

Tips
This tomato sauce for pasta/ pizza can be stored for an week when refrigerated.

Mushroom and Spinach Pizza


Pizza Base Ingredients:
Water- 250ml
All Purpose flour/Maida- 5cups
Olive oil- 5tsp
Salt- 1tsp
Sugar- 2tsp
Yeast- 7gms

Topping Ingredients:
Onion small sliced-1
Capsicum/ Bell pepper small sliced-1
Mushroom chopped-1/2cup
Spinach chopped-1/2cup
Readymade Pizza sauce-1cup
Dried Oregano, Basil and Parsley-few tsps.
Mozzarella cheese-2cups.
Salt and pepper to taste.

Method:
Take a large bowl add warm water, sprinkle in yeast, sugar, salt, olive oil
and a cup of all-purpose flour. Mix well and let it stand covered for 10
minutes. Mix this yeast mixture into the dry flour. Knead this mixture
till soft dough for 5 mins. Set aside, cover with wet cloth for 1 hour. After an hour knead again for 3 minutes and rest it for another 30 mins. Take a lump of dough and roll into a pizza base. On the pizza base spread the pizza sauce, sprinkle pepper and salt and dried herbs as required, add enough toppings. Cover the pizza toppings with mozzarella cheese and 2tbsp of olive oil. Pre-heat oven at 450F and bake till base is crisp and light or about 10 mins.

Hawaiian Pizza (Homemade Pizza with Pineapple, Cottage cheese and Bell pepper)



Pizza Base Ingredients:




Water- 250ml


All Purpose flour/Maida- 5cups
Olive oil- 5tsp
Salt- 1tsp
Sugar- 2tsp
Yeast- 7gms

Topping Ingredients:
Onion small sliced-1
Capsicum/ Bell pepper small sliced-1
Pineapple chopped-1/2cup
Cottage cheese/ Paneer-1/2cup
Ready made Pizza sauce-1cup
Dried Oregano, Basil and Parsley-few tsp.
Mozzarella cheese-2cups.
Salt and pepper to taste.

Method:
Take a large bowl add warm water, sprinkle in yeast, sugar, salt, olive oil and a cup of all-purpose flour. Mix well and let it stand covered for 10 minutes. Mix this yeast mixture into the dry flour. Knead this mixture till soft dough for 5 mins. Set aside, cover with wet cloth for 1 hour. After an hour knead again for 3 minutes and rest it for another 30 mins. Take a lump of dough and roll into a pizza base. Spicy Chicken Pizza



Ingredients for Pizza base
1 teaspoon white sugar
1 1/2 cup warm water
1 tablespoon active dry yeast
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 1/2 cup Maida flour

Ingredients for topping
1 cup shredded mozzarella
3/4 cup shredded Parmesan
1/2 medium red onion, thinly sliced
1/2 cup tomato sauce
1 cup chopped chicken tenders
4 tsp chili flakes
4 tsp oregano
Salt to taste




Method



In a large bowl, mix sugar in warm water. Add yeast and let stand for 15 minutes, until foamy. Now add olive oil and salt into the yeast mixture, then mix in wheat flour and Maida flour to make soft dough. Place dough in a bowl and cover loosely with a towel and let stand in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Roll a ball of dough with a rolling pin until it will not stretch any further. Then, drape it over both of your fists, and gently pull the edges outward, while rotating the crust. When the circle has reached the desired size, place on a well oiled pizza pan. Spread adequate amount of tomato sauce on the top of pizza base, place sliced onions and chicken, sprinkle chili flakes, oregano and salt. Cover the entire pizza with both the cheeses. Bake for 20 to 30 minutes (depending on thickness) in the preheated oven, until the crust is crisp and golden at the edges, and cheese is melted on the top
